Contact me through my contact form and tell me a few details about your wedding! Then we will schedule a phone consult or Skype call to go over the specifics of your wedding day. I will help you determine how many hours of photography coverage you need, whether or not you should have a second photographer and answer any questions you might have. Once you are ready to book, I will email you a quote, contract to sign, and invoice for your retainer fee. You will then have access to your client portal where all your information and documents are kept secure and in one place for your future reference.
You will receive your welcome packet in the mail shortly after booking. Now it is time to schedule your engagement session! I will guide you on location suggestions and outfit tips. This is an important part of the process. Not only will you receive a full gallery of beautiful images two weeks after your session, we will have a chance to get to know each other and for you to warm up to the camera so you are ready to rock and roll on your wedding day! By the time your wedding day arrives, we will feel more like friends and that creates a safe and relaxed environment for photography!
I always make it a priority to visit your venue before your wedding day. During this meeting, we will discuss photo locations and go over your timeline. I love to go over your venue with you because I can learn your unique vision and favorite photo locations on the property. Venue walk through meetings take place anywhere from one month to four months before your wedding (except for destination weddings which due to travel, typically take place the day before).
It is finally here! After months and planning and excitement, you finally get to marry your soulmate! Your only focus should be soaking up each precious memory. My assistant and I have it from here, photography wise. We will work off our timeline and family photo list to make sure your wedding day photography goes seamlessly from getting your hair and makeup done till the last dance of the night.
Just six weeks after your wedding your online gallery will be ready! Your high resolution and web resolution files can then be downloaded to your hard drive and shared to your hearts content! Your highlight photo slideshow will also be ready for you to share and relive the day. Lastly, two weeks after you receive your images, you can expect to receive a special thank you gift in the mail. I gift my wedding clients a beautiful rose gold glass print box filled with a few of their wedding photos. My hope is that you will continue to fill the print box with memories as you start your journey together as husband and wife!

If your wedding doesn't quite fit the mold of either elopement or traditional full day wedding, don't be shy, inquire anyway and let's talk about your budget.
Karissa Roe is beyond amazing! From our initial phone conversation/interview to the engagement photos, to her magazine explaining and telling you all about her photography and day of info, to the actual wedding day! She is beyond talented, professional, and a breeze to work with. She more than captured our day. She scouted locations, made a timeline, kept everyone on schedule, answered any question we thought of, and did the most amazing candids of our guests and reception! The candids are so great, but her scenic portraits of us and our location have made us cry multiple times. I want her to be my life photographer. She will catch moments of your day that you didn't even know happened. I can't stop looking at them and my Husband and I have cried multiple times.
Karissa Roe Photography, and Karissa, are hidden gems that I took a leap of faith in hiring for our wedding solely based on the raving reviews via The Knot. When newly-engaged, I was clueless about photographers and had no idea which direction we would end up going with our price range, style of photos, etc.... Let me tell you ladies, Karissa does not disappoint and I have the MOST BEAUTIFUL wedding pictures a girl could ask for. Karissa is personable, patient, ridiculously easy to sign agreements with, and has the ability to wrangle in all of those relatives you want pictures with but, oh-I-didn't-know-I-was-supposed-to-stay-for-pictures during your reception. She has such a creative eye for photography, and took the time in advance to visit our venue before the big day to get ideas on first look, golden hour, and family portrait locations.
We are honestly so honored and lucky to have Karissa as our wedding photographer. Every one of our guests was super impressed with her professionalism on the day-of, and every single photo we received from her is a true work of art. She is talented, accommodating, responsive, sweet, fun, and so much more! Having her at our wedding is no doubt the best decision we have made for our wedding planning. We will come back to her for our future events again and again and again! Whoever is viewing this page, please do yourself the favor of booking with her! :)
Where to begin? Karissa Roe is an amazing photographer both personality and talent wise. She was so professional throughout our engagement photo shoot and wedding day with clear communication, timeliness, and organization. She has a sweet and sincere demeanor, yet knows what is needed for great shots and directs individuals and crowds without a hitch. She goes above and beyond to ensure a smooth process and end with an incredible product. We are in love with our engagement and wedding photos and feel so thankful that we found Karissa Roe.
Karissa is one if the sweetest hardest working people I have had the pleasure of meeting. As far as her photography skills go... The pictures we got back from Karissa for our engagement shoot and wedding blew my mind. I loved every photo. My husband and I had no idea what we were doing but she coached us through each pose and they were stunning. Karissa also hiked up two miles while it snowed for our engagement shoot. I couldn't be happier!
Aesthetically, I consider my style to be romantic, elegant, and colorful. However, my shooting style, or the way I work with clients is very personable and my goal is always to create authentic images. While I enjoy traditional poses and tend to lean toward a more editorial style, I want your images to feel like you. It is my goal to capture not just stunning portraits but all the in between moments and emotions that you and your family will treasure for generations.
Yes, I offer a second photographer as an a la carte option to all wedding experience collections. In addition, a photographer's assistant accompanies me to every wedding I shoot. Differing from a dedicated second shooter, my assistant only shoots during the ceremony and sometimes during cocktail hour. Her role is to assist me with lighting and organization throughout the day. She plays a vital role in me being able to provide my clients with the best wedding photography experience possible.
My standard Wedding Experience collection is 8 hours of continuous coverage. I generally find this to be the perfect amount of time to cover everything from detail photos to getting ready and exit photos. However, every wedding is different and if you are having a multiple location wedding day or you have a large bridal party and guest list you may need to add additional time. Contact me and I would be happy to schedule a consult call with you and help you determine how many hours of photography coverage you need!
I generally deliver about 80-100 images per hour of shooting. For example, if you are having 8 hours of wedding day coverage, you can expect to receive about 600-800 images in your gallery.
I do not offer discounts off the standard Karissa Roe Wedding Experience Collection, but I can offer an extra hour of wedding day coverage instead of an engagement session.
Your high resolution digital .jpeg files will be ready to download via your online gallery in 6 weeks. However, most of the time my clients receive their images in just 4 weeks! Engagement session turnaround time is 2 weeks.
I shoot with professional Nikon DSLR cameras (Nikon D5 and Nikon D750s) and a variety of professional Nikon lenses. I also have a lot of lighting gear, memory cards etc. I absolutely have backup equipment. I shoot with two camera bodies during a wedding and always carry a third as a backup. I also have back-up lenses and lighting equipment.
At this point I have lost track! But I can estimate it is around the 50 or 60 mark.
Yes, you have printing release to print your photos either through my lab and the online gallery system or anywhere you would like. I believe your wedding photos are meant to be shared so I do not put watermarks or logos on any images you receive.
This is covered in my contract, if for medical or family emergency I cannot photograph your wedding a agreed upon suitable replacement will be found or a full refund will be issued including any retainer fees. However, I have never had this situation occur!
I love to travel! Travel fees vary according to location but usually just include the cost of hotel, flight, and transportation. However, ask me about my travel rates to the San Juan Islands! I have very low travel rates for the islands as I have family there. Also, there are no travel fees for Lake Chelan weddings.
Yes, I am licensed and insured with liability insurance as well. If needed, I can provide your venue with proof of insurance.
